Role Overview

BackPR powers critical enrollment and safety communications around the clock. The Principal Platform Reliability Lead ensures our services stay resilient, observable, and responsive no matter where users connect.

You will define reliability standards, lead incident programs, and guide engineering teams toward ever-higher service excellence.

What you will lead

• Own the reliability roadmap covering SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets across product domains.
• Evolve incident management, post-incident learning, and chaos testing for a fully remote organization.
• Partner with Engineering and Infrastructure to optimize capacity planning, resilience testing, and release strategies.
• Mentor senior engineers on reliability best practices and scalable automation.

Experience that sets you up for success

• Proven leadership in site reliability engineering or production operations for large-scale SaaS.
• Expertise with observability stacks, resilience testing, and platform automation.
• Strong background in running cross-functional incident command and postmortem programs.
• Ability to communicate reliability trade-offs and priorities to executives and engineering squads.

Compensation & benefits

• Base salary range: $210,000 - $260,000 USD with incentive targets tied to reliability outcomes.
